20 June – Saturday – 52 new infections have been registered throughout Austria in the past 24 hours. New cases were reported in eight of the nine federal provinces, only in Vorarlberg was no new infection detected in a 24-hour comparison. Most new cases were in Vienna, where there were 31.
After Vienna, most new cases were in Salzburg, where six cases of Covid-19 were reported. Four were registered in Styria, three each in Burgenland, Lower Austria and Upper Austria and one each in Carinthia and Tyrol.
As of 9.30 a.m. on Saturday, a total of 74 patients were undergoing hospital treatment, compared to 75 on Friday. Eight of them need intensive medical treatment, compared to seven the day before.
No further deaths had been reported on Saturday. So far, 688 people have died nationwide as a result of the coronavirus.
