In all MediaMarkt and Saturn stores in Austria additional protective and hygiene measures are introduced.
Vienna. “For the protection of customers” is the motto at MediaMarktSaturn Austria. As of September 1, additional protection and hygiene measures in the fight against the corona virus will be introduced at all 37 MediaMarkt stores and 15 Saturn stores. Specifically, all employees will again be required to wear mouth and nose protection in the form of masks or face shields. According to an official press release, customers are also advised to wear masks again in the stores. “We see it as our obligation to provide the best possible protection for our employees and our customers,” according to a press release.

“The protection of customers and employees is a top priority of MediaMarktSaturn Austria. Therefore, as of September 1, 2020, additional protection and hygiene measures will be implemented at all 37 Media Markt and 15 Saturn stores in addition to all officially ordered requirements. The aim is to create a safe and pleasant atmosphere – for customers when shopping and for employees at their place of work.
This is why we have decided to raise our safety and hygiene standards as of September 1 and to implement further preventive measures in addition to the mandatory requirements imposed by the Austrian authorities. We see it as our obligation to provide the best possible protection for our employees and our customers. All our precautions are therefore aimed at creating a safe and pleasant shopping atmosphere in our stores where everyone feels comfortable”, explains Csongor Nemet, CEO of MediaMarktSaturn Austria. From 1 September, all employees at MediaMarkt and Saturn will once again be required to wear a mandatory mouth-and-nose protection in the form of masks or face shield. Information signs will also be used to advise customers to wear such protection when entering the stores. In addition, cleaning and disinfection measures are being intensified, and sales areas and display equipment are disinfected regularly and at short intervals. Customers are also again actively advised of the safety and hygiene standards on site. These range from hand disinfection to appropriate markings on the floor and correct behavior in the stores.
