The eagerly awaited first day at school went surprisingly well. Almost all teachers and students were able to attend, there is a certain routine.
Except for minor breakdowns (occasional queues without baby elephant distance, too many children coming at the same time, etc.) everything went smoothly. The facts:
In Vienna, 15 suspected cases of corona among teachers and students have been reported so far, in Burgenland five. Lower Austria did not want to give away any numbers.
All those affected contacted their school in advance and stayed at home. One third of the suspected cases were teachers.
The tightened hygiene regulations worked “excellently” throughout, according to Vienna’s Director of Education, Himmer, said in a statement published by “Heute” newspaper.
