The number of new infections remains below the 1,000 mark. Around 900 new infections were reported on the day of the grand openings.
The Corona situation is improving with each passing day; for six days already, Austria has never recorded more than 1,000 cases. A look at the past few days shows that the numbers are not only holding at a stable level, but are also moving in the right direction.
There were 933 new infections on May 13, 887 on May 14, 644 on May 15, 673 on May 16, 476 on May 17 and 582 on yesterday, May 18. And even on the big opening day in the country, the numbers remain below the 1000 mark. As “Today” learned on Wednesday, there have been a total of 899 new infections and nine deaths across Austria in the last 24 hours.
