From Sunday to Monday, there were 94 new Corona infections in Austria. This is the first time there have been under 100 new infections since Aug. 10, 2020. Compared to the previous week (112 cases), it is also a minus of 18 cases.
Also the seven-day incidence fell at the beginning of the week with 10.5 Austria-wide only just in double figures, the province with the highest value per 100,000 inhabitants is currently Vienna with 23.2, in the remaining provinces this is below ten in each case, in Carinthia even only 2.0.
Since Sunday, there have also been 240 new recoveries, bringing the number of active cases down to 2,625. With 31,769 PCR tests, the positive rate is also 0.3 percent.
In other positive news to start the week, there have been no new deaths related to Covid-19 infection in the past 24 hours.
The situation also continues to ease in Austrian hospitals. From Sunday to Monday, there were ten fewer cases in normal wards and four fewer patients in intensive care units in the country.
