As corona numbers rise, the AstraZeneca cause overshadows the pandemic in the country. As of Tuesday, there are 2,425 new infections and 33 deaths.
Many countries stop vaccinating with AstraZeneca for now – Austria, on the other hand, continues to vaccinate; some countries go back into hard lockdown – Austria, on the other hand, continues to lock down; and while vaccination is going on diligently elsewhere, thousands of doses are reportedly left in storage in Austria. Meanwhile, corona numbers continue to rise steadily, with health authorities reporting 2,425 new corona infections and 33 deaths in the latest 24 hours on Tuesday.
A massive increase is noticeable in the domestic hospitals: 66 new Corona patients are in the normal ward, 19 new intensive care patients – almost every hour a patient was newly transferred to the intensive care unit, almost every hour three patients to the normal ward.
So far, there have been 497,889 positive Corona test results in Austria. As of today (March 16, 2021, 9:30 a.m.), 8,925 people across Austria have died as a result of Corona virus and 461,659 have recovered. Currently, 1,844 people are receiving hospital care due to Corona virus. Of these, 383 are being cared for in intensive care units. The new infections in the provinces since yesterday’s announcement:
