On January 14, an important deadline for the online purchase of the Digital Vignette is approaching, ASFINAG informs in a press release.
Watch out when buying vignettes: If the digital Vignette is purchased online, this has far-reaching effects on its validity. As with purchasing other goods, a 14-day right of withdrawal always applies according to the Consumer Protection Act. In the case of the Climate Ticket, Digital Vignette, etc., it would still be possible to cancel the purchase after 13 days and receive a full refund.
For this reason, the Vignette is only valid for some time after purchase. So that one is not from February 1, when the Vignettejahr 2023 begins, without authorization on the highways on the way; the new Vignette must be bought even at the latest by January 14.
“The Digital Vignette is only valid on the 18th day after the online purchase. This makes January 14 the important deadline for all those who prefer to click instead of peck. So anyone who buys the Digital Vignette by then in the toll store at asfinag.at or via the free ASFINAG app will ensure that they can use our freeways and expressways without any problems from February 1,” explains ASFINAG Managing Director Claudia Eder.
This affects around three million Austrians. With a share of 67 percent, two-thirds of all annual toll stickers are already digital. The Digital Annual Vignette 2023 is available with simple steps in the ASFINAG toll store and via the ASFINAG app. Digital vignettes are also available at toll booths, at many tobacconists and gas stations, from automobile clubs such as ÖAMTC, ARBÖ and ADAC, and vending machines located at key locations in Austria.
