Did the Flood and Noah’s Ark really happen as described in the Bible? This question has been driving archaeologists for a long time, and now, new evidence may have been found.
Turkey is considered a stronghold for archaeological excavations. A few weeks ago, a 1700-year-old trident was unearthed in Assos. Last year, archaeologists discovered an entire underground city from the 2nd or 3rd century AD by pure chance.
The hieroglyphs found in a tunnel are genuinely ancient and have finally been deciphered after more than 3,500 years. It would, therefore, come as no surprise if the biblical ark was also located in this area.
Noah’s Ark has been suspected here since the 1950s
Durupinar was discovered in 1956 and is associated with Noah’s Ark due to an unusual depression in the shape of an ark. This suspicion has been proven wrong several times. However, a new discovery could change this.
A team of Turkish and American researchers who have been working there since 2021 analyzed rock and soil samples from the area and may take the world one step further.
Materials that are over 5000 years old
The soil shows signs of clay materials, marine materials, and seafood dating back between 5000 and 3000 BC, according to the team’s analysis. The biblical flood is said to have taken place around 5000 years ago.
These findings prove that there was human activity in this mountain region at that time. However, Noah’s Ark itself, whose existence is disputed among experts, has still not been found and could still be a myth.
