April got off to a promising start with temperatures that heralded the arrival of summer. In some places, the thermometers even reached 30 degrees, prompting many to enjoy the first rays of sunshine at the swimming lakes. But then came the sudden onset of winter.
From Friday: the return of spring
Spring returns on Friday. Despite the risk of frost in the morning, temperatures will rise significantly during the day compared to last week. With temperatures between 12 and 17 degrees Celsius and plenty of sunshine, the early summer comeback is perfect.
Summer days in prospect
The long-term forecasts give hope for summery days: Temperatures could rise above 23 degrees as early as the weekend, and a summery 25 degrees is even possible again by 1 May. Only dense clouds could thwart the early summer, but even then, we can expect pleasant spring temperatures of around 16 to 18 degrees.
From May onwards, cold spells are no longer to be expected, and we can look forward to a warmer period.

There will be localized fog patches in the morning, but these will usually clear quickly, and then the sun will shine for most of the day with loose clouds forming. Only on the southern side of the Alps may there be a little more cloud, especially in East Tyrol and Carinthia. The wind will blow weakly to moderately from the south-east to the south-west. Early temperatures will be between minus 3 and plus 3 degrees, while daytime highs will reach between 12 and 17 degrees.

Local patches of early morning fog will mostly clear quickly, and the sun will shine in many places. There may be a few heavier patches of cloud in the south of Tyrol, East Tyrol, and Upper Carinthia. On the northern side of the Alps, a southerly foehn will develop in the west. The wind will be weak to moderate along the foehn north side of the Alps and in the east brisk, from southeast to southwest. Early morning temperatures will range between minus 2 and plus 6 degrees, while daytime highs will be between 14 and 22 degrees.
