Austria: New airport train planned for eastern region

Work on the so-called “airport link” is in full swing. This is a 26-kilometer high-capacity railroad line between northern Burgenland, eastern Lower Austria, and Vienna-Schwechat Airport. The total cost is 1.9 billion euros. “The necessary official procedures are currently being processed, including the environmental impact assessment,” says ÖBB General Director Andreas Matthä.
