Thousands of vacationeers could be shattered if borders are closed again.
Borders are tight.
Croatia was considered a Corona model among our holiday countries, but the numbers are getting worse. There are more than 3,700 confirmed COVID 19 cases, over 1,000 active illnesses, 119 deaths.
On the website of the Austrian Foreign Ministry it says: “High security risk (security level 4). Continued restrictions on air travel and travel and extensive restrictions on public life are to be expected until further notice”.
There are signs that a new lockdown is imminent. Slovenia is already considering closing its borders, while for Austrians the way to the Croatian beaches by car would be blocked.
Spain: hard fight against illegal parties
Mallorca. At the weekend, fears about an imminent second corona wave also rose in Spain. On Mallorca, hundreds of holidaymakers (from Germany and Great Britain) celebrated on Ballermann without distance and masks. The regional government has now declared war on illegal parties.
In order to protect against the spread of the corona virus, a stricter obligation to wear masks will come into force on Monday on Mallorca and the other Balearic Islands. By order of the regional government, mouth and nose protection must be worn in all enclosed public spaces, as well as on the street and outside, as soon as there is a possibility of encountering other people.
On the beach, at the pool and during sports activities, however, no one is required to wear a mask. The Balearic Islands are thus following the example of Catalonia, which has had an increased obligation to wear masks since Thursday due to new sources of infection. Mallorca attracts especially many German tourists, even before the opening of the Spanish border, thousands of them were allowed on the island again in mid-June.
Travel warnings apply for these countries
Following the rapid spread of coronavirus infections, which are attributed to south-eastern Europe, the German government issued travel warnings for three more countries on Wednesday: Romania, Bulgaria and Moldova.
Austrians can now travel to 30 European countries. Some countries, however, still have requirements such as quarantine regulations on entry. Further reports about Travel restriction – COVID 19 – TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS AND WARNINGS
