The number of registered new coronavirus infections in Germany has reached an all-time high of 19,990 cases within one day.
This was reported by the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) this morning. The RKI reported the highest level since the beginning of the pandemic on Saturday with 19,059 cases. On Thursday last week, the number was 16,774.
According to the RKI, a total of 597,583 people in Germany have become infected with SARS-CoV-2 since the beginning of the pandemic (as of November 5, 0:00 a.m.). To date, the number of deaths related to the virus has increased by 118 to a total of 10,930. The RKI estimates that around 391,600 people have now recovered.
According to the RKI management report, the reproduction rate in Germany was 0.81 (previous day: 0.94). This means that on average, one infected person infects slightly less than one other person. The figure reflects the course of infection about one and a half weeks before.
