London. In Great Britain, almost 600 people have died from or with Covid-19 within one day. Overall, the number of infections on Wednesday exceeded the threshold of 1.25 million since the beginning of the pandemic, according to the latest government figures.

Due to different counting methods, however, the national statistics office already comes to more than 65,000 corona deaths. The office counts the cases where Covid-19 is noted on the death certificate – the other number refers to cases previously tested positive for SarS-Cov2. Fact is however with both counting methods: In terms of the absolute number of deaths, Great Britain remains the country in Europe most severely affected by the Corona pandemic.
