Day one of the new, tough lockdown and in Austria, almost 6,000 new infections were registered again. Specifically, there were 5,984 new positive test results from Monday to Tuesday.
58 people died with the coronavirus in the past 24 hours. 182 had to be hospitalized, 46 new Covid patients are in intensive care units. At present, 4,525 people are undergoing hospital treatment due to the corona virus, 658 of them in intensive care units.
6816 people are considered to have recovered. Thus, there is a slight decrease in active cases in Austria to 76,165.
Most new infections were again reported from Upper Austria. 1,230 positive tests were registered there. In the daily statistics, Vienna only ranks sixth.

The 7-day incidence (new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in the last seven days) is currently (as of 16 November) 543. The target was a 7-day incidence of less than 50. The traceability of the infection chain has recently fallen massively – the source of the infection was recently identified in only 23 percent of those infected.
