Whether this is due to a lack of discipline on the part of the population or rather to a lack of comprehensibility on the part of the government’s line in the fight against the pandemic is a matter of considerable debate. The fact is that the numbers are too high.

From Thursday to Friday, there were again over 2,000 new infections reported: Exactly 2,085 new cases were recorded just before the last weekend before the holidays.

The death toll crossed the 5,000 threshold and stood at 5,127 early Monday morning, meaning 145 people have died with the coronavirus in the last 24 hours.

297,424 people have recovered. Currently, 3,073 people are receiving hospital treatment for the corona virus, and of those, 495 of the ill are in intensive care units.
