FFP2 masks should be offered at cost in grocery retail stores.

FFP2 masks should be used more often, experts now advise in view of the new virus variant.
Flowered, colorful, patterned or otherwise creative masks will be seen less in the future than before. Because starting from 25 January the FFP2 mask is to be carried obligatorily at least in the trade and the public means of transport.

In the press conference on Sunday it was called besides that the FFP2-Masks, which offer more protection than conventional cloth masks, in the food retail trade at the cost price are offered. Low-income people are to be provided with them free of charge in the first place, said Health Minister Rudolf Anschober.

Until Wednesday, one wants to have defined the access to the masks for “these groups in detail”, said Anschober. The wearing of this health protection should not fail in any case at the financial possibilities of the individual.

On February 8, the complete trade as well as body-related services are then to reopen. There, the wearing of FFP2 masks will also be mandatory.

In Villach masks are also to be distributed. Accordingly, 20,000 FFP2 masks will be purchased by the city and distributed to Villach residents who are at least 65 years old starting next Wednesday. Each person will receive two masks, the city says.
