Protective masks are free in the markets for the time being. Who disregards in the future rule, pays 25 euros.
Starting today, Monday, it goes into effect, the 27th regulation of the Ministry of Health to combat the Corona pandemic. The emergency measure brings some tightening:
More distance
The “baby elephant” has had its day – at least as far as its size is concerned. Instead of one meter, a safety distance of 2 meters will apply in public spaces as of January 25. And it will continue to apply to everyone who does not live in the same household.
Better masks
The cloth-tailored mouth-nose protection is no longer allowed when traveling or shopping on public transport. Here, as of Monday, one must wear an FFP2 mask – and without an outlet valve. The FFP2 mask obligation applies to the entire trade and in official buildings of the city of Vienna. The supermarket chains have reacted to this: Billa, Merkur and Penny are providing every customer with the first FFP2 mask free of charge between Monday and Wednesday. This offer is valid while stocks last, they say. The Spar food group is also giving away the FFP2 masks free of charge. Those who want to buy masks in larger quantities can get them at 59 cents each. For the socially weak, the delivery of one million free masks to 243 emergency shelters, social markets and food distribution points began on Saturday. Who offends against the stretcher obligation, must count on an organ penalty of 25 euro, whereby the stretcher obligation does not apply to children. These are exempt until the age of 6. Between the ages of 6 and 14, a tight-fitting mouthguard is sufficient; it does not have to be an FFP2 mask.
“1 plus 1” continues to apply
Since the lockdown has been extended (schools open on February 8 at the earliest, restaurants and hotels at the end of February at the earliest), the “1 plus 1” rule continues to apply for visits, i.e.: the family may visit the grandpa living alone – or the grandpa may visit the family. A meeting of multiple (neighbor) families remains prohibited for the time being.
