Service providers close to the body are allowed to open up again from next Monday. However, until further notice, anyone going to the hairdresser, tattoo artist or similar must present a negative Covid test, which must not be older than 48 hours.
Question: I am regularly being tested at work. Does the test apply when I enter a hair saloon?
– Generally, any antigen or PCR test that healthcare professionals take applies – self-tests do not. For body-based services such as hairdressing, the test must be older than 48 hours.
Question: Who controls whether customers have valid tests?
– The establishment itself: It may only offer its services to customers who have a negative test result. In addition, there are random checks by health authorities and the police.
Question: Do employees also have to be tested?
– Staff and employees of body-related service providers such as hairdressers must also be tested. However, their test results may be somewhat older than those of customers – but not more than 7 days.
Question: I was sick with Corona. Does the testing obligation still apply?
– No. Anyone who has had an infection in the past six months does not need a test, but must be able to show a medical confirmation. FFP2 mask is required!
Question – I am vaccinated. Does the testing obligation also apply to me?
– Yes, a vaccination first of all protects the vaccinated person. However, there are not yet sufficient study results to determine whether the vaccination also completely curbs transmissibility.
Question: Do I have to wear an FFP2 mask despite a negative test?
– Yes. The point is to avoid infection – which would be possible in both directions: from me to others and from others to me.
Question: Where can you get tested free of charge?
– At present, this is possible in the testing centers and streets – for all locations, see oesterreich.gv.at.
Question: At what age do children need their own test?
– Children from the age of ten need their own test result. If the offspring is younger, the respective test result of the parents or a legal guardian applies.
Question: Which tests are recognized for a visit to the hairdresser?
–It doesn’t matter whether it’s a gargle test or a nasal or throat swab: tests that are taken and confirmed by a medical professional are recognized. Self-tests do not count!
