The Traffic Light Commission expects the situation at intensive care units in the eastern region to remain tense. The panel issued a corresponding assessment after its meeting yesterday. Upper Austria is also advised to take appropriate precautions. In Vorarlberg, the commission recommends a continuous evaluation of the opening steps there. Nowhere the infected rate rises at present more highly than there. On the traffic light all federal states are red.
In the risk assessment of the commission, it is said that forecast calculations show a constant utilization of intensive care units at a high level of just under 30 percent for the next two weeks, according to the Austrian Press Agency.
The commission assumes that the incidence of infections will continue at a constant high level and that, as a result, there will be no relief for intensive care units, especially in the eastern states. For this reason, all federal provinces, and in particular Vienna, Burgenland, Lower Austria and Upper Austria, continue to be advised to implement measures in the hospitals in order to cope with the present system-critical load. The continued lockdown in the East is therefore “expressly” welcomed by the Commission.
