Half of those who want to be vaccinated against Corona will have received immunization by Friday. This is according to figures from the Chancellor’s Office. According to the figures, at least one vaccination was given to 2.5 million people. Likewise the 50-percent-value is reached according to data from the electronic vaccination passport with the Austrians over 50.
The Federal Chancellery reckons that around two thirds of the vaccinated population have received the sting. Children, for example, are still excluded. That brings the total to about five million. Chancellor Sebastian Kurz (ÖVP) says in a written statement that this vaccination progress will also lead to a noticeable improvement in the Corona situation. The goal of being able to offer a first vaccination to everyone who wants it by the end of June will be achieved, he said.
Overall, among the population over 16, just under one-third, 32 percent, are vaccinated. Among the over-65s, the figure is already more than two-thirds, at 69 percent. In the over-75 group, the figure is 72 percent, and slightly lower among the over-85s, at 68 percent.
