It will remain cool and unsettled in the coming days: Thus, the weather will remain little friendly over the holidays (Pentecost Sunday), as shown in the forecast of the Central Institute for Meteorology and Geodynamics (ZAMG).
The Vienna weather in detail
On Saturday, the next disturbance will cross the country. Dense to closed clouds will prevail, at most a few gaps in the clouds will appear in the east and southeast. Here, it will rain only intermittently, towards the west more persistent and heavy. The wind will blow moderately to briskly from southwest to northwest. The thermometer will show four to twelve degrees in the morning, during the day a maximum of 13 to 19 degrees.
On Sunday, clouds will dominate. On the northern side of the Alps, in the east and in the southeast, however, there will only be a few showers and the clouds will also frequently clear. Thus, it will also be partly quite friendly with intermittent sunshine. In the south and southwest, however, the compact clouds will last longer. In some areas, rain will continue into the afternoon. The wind from westerly directions will blow moderately in the Danube region, otherwise rather weak. After four to twelve degrees for breakfast, there will be 13 to 18 degrees for snack in the afternoon.
Monday will also be rainy
Especially in the south and southwest it will rain again for a longer period on Monday after an overnight break from compact clouds. In the other parts of the country, too, some cloud fields will pass through during the day. Some rain is possible, but dry weather will prevail, especially to the north, and the sun will shine at times. The wind will be light to moderate, at higher altitudes and in foehn areas sometimes brisk from southerly directions (early temperatures: five to eleven degrees, daily highs: 16 to 23 degrees).
On Tuesday, the sun will shine longer in the south, the morning will be dry. In the north of the Alps, however, it will be cloudy and rainy under the influence of disturbances. In the northern parts of the country, it will loosen up a bit during the day and the sun will show itself, but the temperatures will remain subdued with the cooler air mass that has flowed in. The rain clouds finally reach the south again in the afternoon. At times, a reviving wind will blow from west to northwest. The lowest temperatures will be seven to 14 degrees, with a maximum of 15 to 24 degrees expected, with the highest values in the southeast.
