ÖBB expands night train routes
On sunday, June 13, 2021, the private Czech railroad company Regiojet launched a train connection between Vienna and Budapest starting at 9 euros. The company is not sparing in its criticism of the competition. It wants to offer passengers “another way to travel comfortably by train than at nonsensical prices offered by the current state operators,” Regiojet director Ivana Sachsová was quoted as saying in a statement on Friday.

Traveling by train will be significantly cheaper than with ÖBB, the private railroad said. Regiojet plans to connect Vienna with Budapest twice a day in each direction. The standard fare will cost 11 euros, “Relax” 15 euros, “Business” 25 euros.
