An opportunity for Corona vaccination is opening up at Vienna’s Rathausplatz starting July 3 – and there’s no need to register in advance.
Vaccination: Action at the Austria Center
During the Film Festival, the vaccination box is available daily between 5:00 to 10:00 pm. For those over 18 years of age, the vaccine from Johnson & Johnson, which is only required once, is available. For those under 18 years of age, the vaccine from Biontech/Pfizer is offered. In this case, the second shot is then administered at the Austria Center Vienna.
Corona: Vaccination box not only for guests of the Film Festival
The vaccination box is available until September 4 to visitors of the Film Festival and passers-by who want to be vaccinated spontaneously. All that is required for immunization is an identity card and – if available – an e-card. With the five-hour opening time, up to 200 people can be vaccinated per day. The opening hours can also vary in the course of the festival, depending on the rush, informed the city of Vienna in a release on Friday. Those who do not want to be vaccinated right away can also make an appointment at one of Vienna’s vaccination centers at the vaccination box.
“In order to give the delta mutation of the Corona virus no chance, the highest possible vaccination coverage rate is necessary – the higher and the faster, the better,” Vienna’s city health councillor Peter Hacker (SPÖ) stressed. Although there are currently only a few new infections, in view of the more contagious delta variant, the pace of vaccination should not be slackened, said Hacker. In the summer, there will be repeated vaccination campaigns, which will be offered “where the people are,” announced the health councilor.
