The Chamber of Labor (Arbeiterkammer) took a random look at dozens of Viennese car repair shops and compared the prices of stickers, repairs and the like. The results showed price increases across the board.
For comparison: Prices in the previous year
Usually, the inspection of the motor vehicle sticker is due annually, except in the case of a brand new car. Depending on the type of the car and the repair shop, the check can cost up to around 107 euros for diesel and gasoline cars. Compared to the previous year, prices have risen by up to almost five percent. This is shown by a current Arbeiterkammer random price monitor at 37 car workshops in Vienna as well as at the motorists’ clubs.
What the Pickerl for diesel and gasoline costs on average
Compared to the previous year, the prices for the Pickerl have increased: For gasoline cars, the Pickerl costs on average 4.7 percent more, for diesel cars 3.3 percent.
AK price monitor: Higher prices also for car repairs
Mechanics, tinsmiths and painters sometimes have high hourly prices. Depending on the damage, the workshop and the make of the car, motorists can expect to pay a mechanic between 99 and 283 euros.
The AK has checked the hourly rates for repairs between May 25 and June 17 in 37 Viennese motor vehicle workshops and for simple repairs also at the motorists’ club ARBÖ. The AK price monitor on vehicle repair prices and pickle costs can be found at wien.arbeiterkammer.at/kfz-reparaturkosten.
