The Corona rules already in force will be extended. The regulations on events and gatherings will be extended until September 17.
A corresponding decree from Health Minister Wolfgang Mückstein (Greens) is expected today, Thursday. There are thus no changes to the existing Corona measures for the time being.
The regulations on events and gatherings can only be extended for four weeks at a time for legal reasons – so until September 17, gatherings of 100 or more people will still be subject to mandatory notification. From 500 people, they must be approved by the local district administrative authority. Prerequisite for it is as before a comprehensive prevention concept, it said from the health department. Affected by this extension are paragraphs 12 to 16 of the 2nd COVID-19 opening ordinance, which would actually expire at the end of August 19.
The other measures also regulated in this ordinance will also be extended – until the end of September for the time being. “However, an adaptation of the measures is possible at any time depending on the epidemiological situation,” the Ministry of Health stressed in a statement to APA.
Thus, the known rules remain in place, first and foremost the 3-G rule, which Austria already introduced on May 19. This means that only people who have been tested, vaccinated or have recovered are allowed access to restaurants, services close to the body, tourism and leisure facilities, cultural institutions (except museums, libraries, libraries and archives) or non-public sports facilities (such as fitness studios).
