The new, once again tightened CoV measures come into force in Vienna today. The rules, which are limited until the beginning of November, will mainly have disadvantages for the unvaccinated. In some places, for example, tests are no longer valid as proof; only vaccinated and recovered persons will then have access (“2-G rule”). This applies in night catering and at events with more than 500 people.
In addition, “3-G” will largely become “2.5-G.” This means that in places where tested persons also have access, they must present a PCR test. An antigen test is no longer accepted.
This applies to people aged twelve and over in the catering and hotel sectors, at services close to the body, at smaller events, in cinemas and theaters with fewer than 500 seats, and when visiting hospitals and care facilities. In the retail sector, Vienna is now fully committed to FFP2 masks. Mouth-nose protection is no longer sufficient in stores.
