Because the Corona numbers in Austria have skyrocketed in recent days, the federal and state governments met yesterday evening for an emergency session. Result: Corona measures will be tightened. “As chancellor, I will not allow the health care system to be overburdened because we still have too many hesitants and procrastinators,” said Chancellor Alexander Schallenberg.
From Friday to Saturday, 3,756 new Corona infections were registered in Austria. This is not only above the average of the previous seven days (3,063), but also above the previous high of this fall, the 3,727 new cases announced on Wednesday. The seven-day incidence is now 240 cases per 100,000 population.
