From Friday to Saturday, a new all-time high since the outbreak of the pandemic was reached with 9,943 new Corona infections within 24 hours. This surpassed the previous high of November 13, 2020 – when 9,586 infections were recorded.
From Saturday to Sunday, 8,554 new Corona infections were registered in Austria. This is the highest Sunday figure reported so far in the pandemic. On Sunday, November 8 of last year, the number of new cases was 5,933.
Today’s new infections are above the previous seven-day average of 7,558, and the seven-day incidence is currently 594.38.
There are also 20 new deaths related to Covid 19 infection to report, bringing the pandemic death toll in Austria to 11,502 so far. The number of active cases rises to 72,546.
1,903 patients are being treated in hospitals. There are 365 patients in intensive care units.
In the past 24 hours, 175,188 PCR tests have been performed, with a positive rate of 4.88 percent.
