Slovenia is apparently considering a “lockdown for the unvaccinated” along the lines of Austria, but is still awaiting a decision from the Constitutional Court in this regard.
“Austria has already introduced a drastic restriction for all unvaccinated people. Now we would need to know as soon as possible whether we can also go down this path,” Slovenian head of government Janez Jansa said Monday in parliament in Ljubljana, according to the STA news agency.
Croatian president criticizes lockdown for unvaccinated
The country of two million currently has the European Union’s relatively highest new Corona infections, ahead of Croatia and Austria. The center-right government in Ljubljana tightened Corona measures only last Monday, but the restrictions also apply to the vaccinated.
For example, only close family members are allowed to meet each other, private parties such as weddings have been banned and restaurant opening hours have been restricted from 05:00 to 22:00. In addition, compulsory testing has been introduced in schools, causing a great deal of excitement. Parents are up in arms against the regulation, while the government points to the smooth implementation of school testing, particularly in Austria.
