Italy has recorded 228,179 new coronavirus infections in the past 24 hours. This is another high since the outbreak of the pandemic in February 2020, Italian health authorities reported today. In addition, 434 deaths were recorded.
A record 1.48 million CoV tests were analyzed in the past 24 hours, with 15.4 percent coming back positive. 1,715 CoV patients were in intensive care units of Italian hospitals.
Another 19,448 Covid 19 patients were cared for in normal wards. 5.5 million Italians have recovered from coronavirus since the pandemic outbreak in February 2020. 2.5 million are in quarantine.
