The number of new infections in Austria is stabilizing. More than 25,000 new cases were reported yesterday, the lowest Thursday figure in more than two months.
From Thursday to Friday, 23,357 new infections were registered in Austria. This represents the lowest Friday figure in eleven weeks. The current new infections are below the previous seven-day average of 27,057. Currently, 340,543 people in Austria are actively infected with the coronavirus.
The seven-day incidence is 2,127.86. In the past 24 hours, 295,425 new PCR tests were performed. This results in a positive rate of 7.91 percent.
There are also 40 new deaths associated with Covid 19 infections to report. To date, Coronavirus has claimed 15,905 lives in Austria.
Currently, 3,069 people are being treated in hospitals. In intensive care units, 220 people are now receiving treatment.
Vaccinations
As of April, the supply of vaccinations is being further reduced throughout Austria, and demand is falling steadily. Across Austria, 4,281 Corona vaccinations were administered Thursday, only 221 of which were first-time shots.
