All models are expected to get 6GB of RAM this year. But new processors are only available for the iPhone 14 Pro.
All models of Apple’s new iPhone 14 could be equipped with 6 GB of RAM. Until now, that was only reserved for the more expensive iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max.
The market analysts from Trend Force predict that now the cheaper iPhone 14 variants will also get more working memory. However, only the Pro models are to be equipped with the new A16 chip, while the base models will still get the A15 processor. They are also said to still use LPDDR4x, while the Pro models will get the faster LPDDR5.
Android smartphones with 12 GB RAM
Current Android smartphones are already equipped with more working memory. Google’s Pixel 6 Pro has about 12 GB of RAM available and Samsung’s Galaxy S22 is equipped with 8 GB of RAM. Since apps, mobile games and system functions are becoming more and more computationally intensive, it would therefore be a logical step for Apple to give its new iPhone generation more RAM.
Apple will probably present the new devices in September. Traditionally, they are released in late fall. According to rumors, there will be 4 models: 2 Pro variants and 2 cheaper ones.
