The Corona traffic light remains unchanged from the previous week. The commission left all of Austria at yellow on Thursday.
This medium risk on the five-point scale also continues to apply to the provinces of Burgenland, Carinthia, Lower Austria, Salzburg, Tyrol, and Vienna. Upper Austria, Styria, and Vorarlberg continue to be classified as low risk (yellow-green). The Corona Commission announced this after a circular resolution; there was no actual meeting.
Vienna with the highest incidence
Vienna had the highest raw seven-day incidence per 100,000 population from Aug. 10-16. However, this is still skewed because testing is highest in the federal capital, with 18,061 tests per 100,000 inhabitants. Following far behind are Burgenland, with 10,793 tests, and Styria, with 6,341 sample evaluations per 100,000 inhabitants. In Vorarlberg and Tyrol, the figures are 1,576 and 1,836, respectively.
However, Vienna and Burgenland also have the highest hospital utilization rates, with five and six percent of normal wards, respectively. According to the Corona Commission, the trend in the risk of spreading coronavirus is downward in all federal states.
