According to a government draft, the Corona rules will soon be changed again. Specifically, this concerns visits and employees in healthcare facilities where the 3G rule currently applies.
The 3G rule for visitors and employees in hospitals, convalescent homes, or old people’s and nursing homes is likely to be dropped soon. According to the “Salzburger Nachrichten,” this is provided in a draft amendment to the Covid-19 Basic Measures Ordinance.
On the other hand, the mask requirement in these facilities is to remain in place. Individual provinces may provide stricter measures than before.
Current regulation is valid until January 15
The current regulation is valid until January 15. Experts “are constantly examining which protective measures are purposeful,” it was said on Friday afternoon from the office of Health Minister Johannes Rauch (Greens). The Corona measures in vulnerable areas such as hospitals are being evaluated.
“FFP2 mask helps reliably against Corona viruses”.
Recently, it has become increasingly clear that Corona is no longer the only burden on our healthcare system. We are facing several viral diseases at the same time, the effects of which must be considered together, the statement stressed. It said the FFP2 mask reliably helps against influenza, RS, and Coronaviruses. Both corona vaccination and recovery, on the other hand, provide only temporary protection against infection.
Across Austria, 5107 new infections and exactly 1000 covid hospitalized patients.
The more than 5100 new infections on Thursday are above the average of 4644 new cases over the past seven days. According to AGES data, there were 1000 infected people in the hospital on Friday morning, 40 more than the previous day and the first four-digit figure since November 5. Fifty-seven of those affected were cared for in intensive care units, one less seriously ill person than the previous day. However, nine more covid deaths were added to the day’s total of 21,225 pandemic victims.
The adequate reproduction number, which indicates how many more people an infected person will infect, remained stable at 1.06, just above the critical 1.0 mark. According to AGES, the number of new infections increased for the third week in a row, with a daily rate of increase of 3.4 percent (the previous week, 3.0 percent).
Meanwhile, physicians and pharmacies are again intensifying their offerings after this year’s vaccination campaign. From December 2 to 10, they will offer their patients or customers consultations on the Corona vaccination, vaccines, and COVID-19 medications throughout Austria. A free immunization record check will reveal immunization gaps beyond Corona vaccination. The Ministry of Health is partnering with the Austrian Medical Association and the Austrian Chamber of Pharmacists for the consultation week.
