The weather shows its friendly and mild side in the new week.
At the beginning of the new week, a foothill of the Scandinavian low “Gerson” quickly moves off to the east. From the west, the high “Kali” gradually influences the Alpine region’s weather pattern. The weather thus calms down permanently. In addition, Austria moves into the forefield of a new, powerful low-pressure complex near the British Isles in the latest week. The current thus turns to the southwest, and significantly warmer air masses of Mediterranean origin are brought into the Alpine region. Therefore, calm and warning-free spring weather awaits us until midweek.
Monday will bring many clouds and some rain from Vorarlberg to southern Styria during the night. In the afternoon, individual showers are also expected in the northeast, but dry weather prevails in the west, and generally, it begins to loosen up. The west-to-northwest wind will be moderate in Lower Austria, Vienna and northern Burgenland. Temperatures will not change much, with highs between 10 and 17 degrees.
Tuesday shows widespread from its friendly side. While a few clouds still pass through in the north and east, from Vorarlberg to Styria, the sun often appears after the rapid dissolution of local early fog fields. In the afternoon, a nice mix of sunshine and a few clouds will develop across the country; only in the far west will they gradually become denser. Temperatures will continue to rise, with highs between 14 and 20 degrees.
On Wednesday, initial clouds in the south and east will quickly disappear. Otherwise, the sun will shine in many places, sometimes even undisturbed. Only a few veil clouds will make themselves felt, and harmless spring clouds will form over the mountains. Only in the evening will it become cloudy again in the west, then a few showers are possible at the Arlberg. With partly moderate winds from the south, spring-like temperatures of 15 to 21 degrees are expected.
On Thursday, clouds will predominate throughout the country; sunny clearings will be the exception and most likely occur in the southeast during the day. In addition, some rain will fall from Vorarlberg to Upper Austria from the morning; during the day, this will advance a little more to the eastern, northern side of the Alps. With moderate, regionally also brisk southwesterly winds, the highs from west to southeast will range between 12 and 19 degrees.
