Why this fruit shouldn’t be eaten for breakfast

Everyone says you should eat enough fruit. Therefore, many integrate sweet natural gifts into their breakfasts, so they can start loading with vitamins. But British nutrition expert Dr. Daryl Gioffre breaks down which fruit you should instead not resort to in the morning. What does it have to do with it, and what should be on the plate?

Perhaps this comes as a surprise to some, but the fruit referred to is bananas. They are healthy and taste good, but in the morning, they can have side effects that negatively affect the rest of the day.

These four reasons speak against eating bananas for breakfast:

  1. High fructose content.
    Many eat bananas forgetting that they are one of the fruits that contain the most fructose. This causes blood sugar levels to rise rapidly and fall just as rapidly. A low blood sugar level can lead to cravings. Eating a banana first thing in the morning, you will experience substantial fluctuations in blood sugar levels throughout the day.
  2. over-acidification of the digestive system
    The fructose content of bananas is also harmful in another way. During digestion, the sugar content is fermented and converted into alcohol. Acids are formed that can cause inflammation and intestinal damage, fueling the development of gout and osteoarthritis.
  3. loss of concentration and fatigue
    When blood sugar levels drop, it can lead to a loss of concentration. It is also accompanied by fatigue and sluggishness.
  4. Essential nutrients cannot enter the body.
    Without other food, the body cannot absorb potassium and vitamin B6 from bananas.

The right kind of fruit intake
Of course, you don’t have to give up bananas completely. It is more a question of time of day and combination. They should always be combined with healthy fats, herbs, or spices to neutralize the acidity they contain. So, it requires other components to get the most out of the banana.

Alternative breakfast
Instead of bananas for breakfast, it is recommended to eat high-quality cereals, i.e. whole grain products. But protein-rich, low-fat dairy products, such as cream cheese, eggs or curd cheese, also provide energy for the start of the day. Also healthy are unsalted nuts or vegetables. The most important thing, however, is to eat a varied and balanced diet.
