Corona tests will continue to be free of charge for symptomatic patients at physicians’ offices. According to the Health Ministry’s revised draft of the Covid-19 Transition Act, which the Council will approve by Ministers on Wednesday and by Parliament before the end of June, a Health Ministry statement said Tuesday.
“To ensure that all people with symptoms continue to receive the best medical treatment, we continue to enable free testing in the case of symptoms,” Health Minister Johannes Rauch (Greens) stressed. According to the experts, widespread testing of people without symptoms “no longer makes sense, because the tests do not significantly reduce the number of infections.” On 31 May, the distribution of living room tests in pharmacies ends. The background to this is the end of the pandemic officially declared by the World Health Organization (WHO).
