Vienna – Today, Monday, it is widely sunny, then clouds sometimes bring strong thunderstorms, especially in the western half and the north. According to Geosphere Austria, afternoon temperatures will reach 28 and 36 degrees on Sunday from west to east.

Any residual clouds from nighttime thunderstorms will quickly dissipate on Tuesday. Thus, there will initially be a lot of sunshine again throughout the country. In the afternoon, a few cluster clouds will develop in the mountains, and local thunderstorm cells are subsequently possible in the central Alps and south of them. The daily highs will range from 29 to 36 degrees.

In the west on Wednesday, dense clouds with thundery showers will move through already in the morning. Otherwise, local showers will be the exception, and the first half of the day will be mostly sunny. From the west, however, showers and thunderstorms will increase everywhere in the afternoon. It is most likely to remain dry in the southeast. Nevertheless, it will be a sultry 27 to 35 degrees.

Temporary cooling on Thursday
A disturbance zone lies across Austria on Thursday and moves slowly to the southeast. Many cloud fields will pass through, and widespread rain and showers are expected; thunderstorms and heavy downpours may also be embedded. The sun will only show a little in between. It will cool down considerably with a maximum of 22 to 28 degrees.

On Friday, sunny weather will prevail, and spring clouds over the mountains will remain harmless. Only along the main ridge of the Alps and south of it, local heat thunderstorms may develop in the afternoon. 27 to 30 degrees are possible again.
