How quickly a tablet works also depends on how quickly it reaches the stomach. Posture has a major influence here.
Medication is usually taken standing up, but this is not the right and most effective way. Medication taken lying down works faster, but here, too, the show is very important. If the pain is acute, the effect should occur as quickly as possible.
While taking a tablet, you should lie on the right side of your body. The reason is that the stomach sits transversely in the abdomen. If you swallow the medicine standing up, it will only reach your stomach half as quickly.
However, it is even worse than standing to lie on the left side of the body when taking the medicine. However, standing is still better than lying on the left side of the body. This is because the tablet is transported upwards against the force of gravity. As a result, the route to the stomach can be up to ten times longer than if you are lying on your right side, and the effect only occurs an hour later.
A tablet only takes effect the moment the contents reach the intestine. Therefore, it must reach the last part of the stomach as quickly as possible, where it dissolves and empties the contents into the duodenum, the first part of the small intestine. Sufficient liquid should also be consumed before taking the tablet, and the medication should be taken a few minutes before eating. A full stomach can slow down or even reduce the effect.
