While the sun will often prevail, especially in the east, there will be occasional clouds in the west. Read here in detail how the weather will develop in the coming days.

In the middle of the week, the weather will remain largely calm under the influence of high-pressure FINJA. In the morning, the day will begin in East Tyrol and from the Mürztal valley to Burgenland with compact fields of cloud, which will mostly clear by midday. Away from these regions, the day will often start sunny. Towards midday, thicker clouds will gradually gather in the west but remain dry. On the northern side of the Alps, the wind will freshen moderately to briskly from easterly directions. It may become slightly foehn-like in some valleys, such as the Wipptal (Tyrol). Temperatures will rise -1 to +9 degrees, making it slightly milder overall.

Thursday: Sun dominates, but clouds in the west
Thursday will begin mostly sunny in the eastern half of Austria. Possible patches of early morning fog will clear quickly. From Vorarlberg to the Salzkammergut, clouds will pass through in the morning and slowly spread during the day. Nevertheless, it will remain dry and sunny at times in most regions. The sun will stay out all day, especially in the Danube region and east. The wind will blow weakly to moderately from easterly to south-easterly directions. Temperatures will rise to +2 to +12 degrees, with milder temperatures in the west.

Friday: Noticeably milder, but partly cloudy
The warming trend will continue on Friday. It will be noticeably milder in many regions, although some clouds will pass through. While it will be sunny more often in the west, the sky in Lower Austria, Vienna, Burgenland and Styria will be more cloudy in the morning. Along Lake Neusiedl (Burgenland) to the Innviertel (Upper Austria), a brisk to strong wind will continue to blow from east to south. The day will begin with widespread frost, with temperatures in the eastern half of the country ranging from 1 to 9 degrees in the afternoon, while it will be noticeably warmer in the west at 9 to 14 degrees. At an altitude of 2000 meters, temperatures at midday will range between -1 and +5 degrees, with the east tending to remain cooler.

Saturday: Mild and lots of sunshine
Saturday will bring mild and sunny weather. Only occasional high, thin clouds will provide slight shading, while the fog may linger a little longer in some regions. However, a strong, cold south-easterly wind will be particularly noticeable in Lower Austria, Vienna and Burgenland. Temperatures will reach 3 to 15 degrees high, with the highest values measured on the northern edge of the Alps.

Sunday: Sunny, but clouds crossing the Alps
Sunday will remain generally mild and sunny at times. However, a band of clouds will move across the northern and central Alps from the west. In the afternoon, a brisk north-westerly wind will be particularly noticeable in Upper Styria. Away from this, it will remain largely calm. Highs will be between 3 and 14 degrees, with slightly warmer temperatures in the west than in the east.
