In Austria, too, the clocks went forward to 3 a.m. at 2 a.m. on the dot, and the night was 60 minutes shorter.

Last weekend in October
The change to standard time (CET) will take place on the last weekend in October. What will happen with the abolition of the time changeover in the EU is still unclear, but it has already been decided. The ball is still in the EU Council of Ministers’ court; the transport ministers are responsible.

Majority in favor of abolition
In March 2019, the European Parliament voted by a large majority in favor of abolishing summer time in 2021 – or one year later if there are difficulties for the single market. However, the majority of member states still have to agree to this for it to become a reality. Poland, which currently holds the EU Council Presidency, is sounding out what the other EU states think about the proposal. However, there is no great hope of a solution in the near future.
