Free parking around the Westfield Shopping City Süd (SCS) in Vösendorf will end on Monday! Visitors will still be able to park for free for four hours in the outdoor parking lots, but after that, each additional hour will cost 2.50 euros. In the multi-storey parking lot, parking is charged from the first minute – unless you are a member of the Westfield Club, in which case two hours are free. The aim of the new regulation is to get rid of long-term parkers and commuters.

“Our parking spaces are intended for our visitors and not for commuters and long-term parkers. It is, therefore, necessary to take this step now. Fortunately, the feedback from our visitors has been overwhelmingly positive so far,” says Zsolt Juhasz, General Manager of Westfield Shopping City South.

Cinema fans park for free for longer
If you go to the Cineplexx, you can breathe a sigh of relief: Moviegoers get six hours free if they enter their license plate number at the terminal in the cinema. Monitoring works via the license plate number – payment is made at terminals or via the app. 30 minutes remain after payment to leave the premises. Anyone who forgets or fails to pay risks a hefty fine of 80 euros!

Long-term parkers have had their day
According to SCS, the parking lot was increasingly used as a cheap park-and-ride zone – with cars parked there for hours or even days. This is now a thing of the past. On average, real customers only stay for two hours anyway, so nothing will change for most of them. And what does Ikea do? The furniture giant has its own parking lot and is still working on a solution.
