Vienna, Austria – 2. June 2025 – The Women’s Federation for World Peace (WFWP) has awarded the Global Partner of Peace Award to the Ateneo Chamber Singers, recognizing the choir’s exceptional contribution to peacebuilding through the power of music.
The award was presented after the Charity Concert of the group heröd at the Canisius Church in Vienna’s 9th District by the WFWP UN Vienna Office and presented by Renate Amesbauer, General Secretary of WFWP UN Vienna and President of WFWP Austria, alongside Merle Soquila Blaschke, head of WFWP Corinthia and liaison for WFWP Austria and the Philippines.
WFWP emphasizes the importance of art and culture, especially music, in nurturing a global culture of peace. Christian music, with its messages of faith and harmony, holds a special place in this mission. The Ateneo Chamber Singers exemplify this ideal through their artistry and heartfelt performances.






Under the leadership of conductor Jonathan M. Velasco, the choir has earned international acclaim for its excellence in choral music and its commitment to cultural and spiritual expression. Upon receiving the award, the choir expressed heartfelt appreciation and reaffirmed their dedication to using music as a tool for unity.
The choir’s conductor said that the group is truly honored to receive the recognition.
The WFWP UN Vienna Office extended its gratitude for the encounter and wished the choir continued success on their European tour. As the Ateneo Chamber Singers perform across Europe, they carry a powerful message of peace, hope, and human connection with them.
