VIENNA, Austria – June 18, 2025 — The Retired Filipino Nurses and Association in Austria (RFNAA) paid a courtesy call to the Philippine Embassy in Vienna on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, marking a moment of pride and recognition for the Filipino healthcare community abroad.
Led by RFNAA President Dorcy Aigner, the delegation was warmly received by Philippine Ambassador to Austria, H.E. Evangeline Arroyo-Bernas. The group formally introduced the association to the embassy, outlining its mission to support and bring together retired Filipino nurses and midwives who once served in Austria’s healthcare system.
Ambassador Arroyo-Bernas welcomed the group with open arms, commending the nurses for their decades of dedicated service and contributions to public health.

RFNAA also shared that preparations are underway for their upcoming first-anniversary celebration, which will be held on August 30, 2025, at the Marriott Hotel in Vienna. The milestone event will include a tribute to the trailblazing Filipino nurses of Batch 1975, acknowledging their enduring legacy and the path they paved for future generations of Filipino healthcare workers in Europe.
The meeting concluded with a renewed sense of solidarity between the embassy and the Filipino healthcare diaspora in Austria, with both sides expressing a shared commitment to honoring the past and empowering the future.
