The changeable weather continues. According to Geosphere Austria, it will remain unsettled nationwide both at the weekend and at the beginning of next week. Rain and thunderstorms are possible, but there will also be sunny spells. Temperatures will reach a maximum of 26 to 30 degrees.
Today, Friday, humid air masses will bring thicker clouds and showers to the west and south in the morning. Elsewhere, it will remain dry and sunny. Showers will increase during the day, with isolated thunderstorms. Apart from that, the wind will be mostly light. Temperatures will range from 11 to 18 degrees in the morning, reaching a maximum of 22 to 30 degrees.
Changeable weather at the weekend
On Saturday, it will rain in some areas, especially from the Bregenzerwald to central Burgenland, starting in the night, with some thunderstorms in the east and southeast. In the afternoon, the weather will finally clear up in this region, with occasional sunny spells elsewhere. In the second half of the day, the likelihood of showers and thunderstorms will increase significantly again, first in the central and eastern mountain regions and then in the lowlands in the east and southeast. Locally heavy showers are expected. There will be light to moderate winds from the south to west, with stronger winds during thunderstorms. Temperatures will reach 12 to 19 degrees in the morning and rise to 18 to 28 degrees during the day, with the highest values in the southeast.
Sunday will start cloudy and rainy on the northern edge of the Alps between Lake Constance and the Mostviertel region. However, the rain will temporarily ease off during the day and the chances of short sunny spells will increase. Elsewhere, a mix of sun and thicker clouds is expected throughout the day, occasionally bringing local rain showers. However, the sun will generally appear more often in the afternoon. The wind will be moderate, in the east partly brisk to strong from the west to northwest. Early temperatures will range between 12 and 20 degrees, with maximum temperatures between 19 and 27 degrees.

Monday will start off sunny in the eastern half of the country. In the west, it will be cloudy in the morning, with heavy rain in Vorarlberg and Tyrol. As the day progresses, the clouds in the east will also become denser. While it will rain widely on the northern side of the Alps and in the Mostviertel region until the evening, the likelihood of showers and thunderstorms will increase elsewhere. The wind will be moderate from the north, brisk in the mountains, with early morning temperatures between 12 and 18 degrees. Maximum temperatures will range from 14 to 26 degrees from west to east.
On Tuesday, a disturbance will bring dense clouds and some heavy rain, especially along the northern side of the Alps between the Bregenzerwald and the Mostviertel. Elsewhere, however, there will be many dense clouds but also longer sunny spells. From Upper Austria eastward, there may also be a few short rain showers. The wind will blow from the northwest, partly briskly east of the Hohe Tauern, in the Vienna Basin, and on the eastern edge of the Alps. Temperatures will rise from 10 to 18 degrees in the morning to 17 to 26 degrees during the day. The lower values will be in the west and north of the country.
