The weather this coming weekend will continue to be unsettled. A low-pressure system will dominate the weather, and there may be heavy showers at times, according to Geosphere Austria’s forecast on Thursday. Stable, sunnier weather is not expected until the middle of next week.

Friday will start with a few clouds and sunshine in many places. Only in the West will there be many clouds. These will spread eastward during the day and cause widespread, sometimes intense showers and heavy thunderstorms. The thunderstorms will be concentrated from East Tyrol to the industrial district and the eastern edge of the Alps. The wind will be moderate to brisk, blowing from the south to the west. Early temperatures will range from 10 to 16 degrees, with highs of 20 to 28 degrees.

Saturday will also bring clouds in the morning. Rain is expected throughout the country, at least temporarily, with heavy precipitation in some regions on the northern edge of the Alps and in the south. Local thunderstorms are also possible. The most extended dry spell will be from the Mühlviertel to the Weinviertel and the north of Burgenland. Here, there will also be a few sunny spells, especially in the morning. The wind will be light to moderate. Morning temperatures will range from 10 to 16 degrees, with highs of 16 to 25 degrees.

Sunday will also start mostly cloudy. It will continue to rain, especially in the northern half of the country, with heavy rain in some areas at first. The weather will calm down during the day, with increasing sunny spells. Local rain showers are possible in the afternoon, especially in the west and south. The wind will be light to moderate, blowing from the west to the north. Early temperatures will reach 9 to 17 degrees, with highs of 17 to 25 degrees during the day, with the highest values in the southeast.

The week starts with unsettled weather

The coming week will start unsettled on Monday. Cloud fields will pass through repeatedly, with rain showers and rain expected again, especially in the northern half. Most showers will occur from the Tyrolean lowlands to western Lower Austria. Elsewhere, it will remain partly dry with significantly more sunshine. The wind will be light to moderate from the west. Morning temperatures will range from 9 to 16 degrees, with daytime highs reaching 18 to 25 degrees.

Tuesday will start with a few hours of sunshine, but clouds will increase again during the day from the northwest. Rain showers are also expected again, spreading from west to east during the day. In the south, isolated thunderstorms cannot be ruled out in the afternoon. The wind will be moderate to brisk, occasionally brisk from the west on the northern side of the Alps. Early temperatures will reach 11 to 18 degrees, with highs of 20 to 27 degrees.
