After weeks of rain, the next heatwave is just around the corner. As meteorologists from Geosphere Austria predicted on Friday, the high-pressure weather will continue. Temperatures of up to 36 degrees are expected. It will be very sunny, with thunderstorms only possible again on Tuesday.

Highest temperature on Saturday

The sun will shine again on Saturday, and it will be very hot. In the morning, it will often be cloudless, with a few cumulus clouds forming over the mountains in the afternoon. At the same time, high veil clouds will also pass through. However, the chance of showers will remain very low.

Early temperatures will rise to 12 to 19 degrees, with daily highs of 29 to 36 degrees, with the highest temperatures in the east.

On Sunday, the sun will shine across the whole country, and it will be hot again. Only in the afternoon will a few cumulus clouds form, mainly in the mountains. Subsequently, there will be the occasional heat thunderstorm, mainly from Vorarlberg to Carinthia. Early temperatures will range from 14 to 20 degrees, with maximum temperatures of 27 to 35 degrees.

Potential for thunderstorms

On Monday, very sunny and summery weather will prevail throughout Austria. However, cumulus clouds will form in the mountains from midday onwards. The potential for heavy thunderstorms and rain showers will increase, especially from Vorarlberg to the Tyrolean lowlands.

Early temperatures will reach 14 to 21 degrees, with daily highs of 27 to 33 degrees.

On Tuesday, the sun will shine almost continuously in all parts of the country. Only in the afternoon will isolated cumulus clouds form in the mountains and hills. The likelihood of showers and thunderstorms will increase significantly, especially on the northern side of the Alps.
