After changeable weather at the weekend, Monday will be sunny, but Tuesday will be rainy again.

Today, Friday, cloudy and rainy weather will dominate along the main Alpine ridge and north of it. In the east and south, it will be sunny at times, but there will be heavy rain showers in places in the southeast. The wind will be light and variable. Temperatures will range between 9 and 15 degrees in the morning and reach 16 to 24 degrees during the day.

Changeable but mild weather at the weekend

On Saturday, clouds will predominate in the western half of the country, with frequent rain showers. However, the sun will still shine at times, especially in the morning. The weather will be friendlier overall in the eastern half of the country. In the evening, however, heavy rain showers or even thunderstorms will pass through there as well, mainly along and north of the Danube. Maximum temperatures will climb to 19 to 25 degrees.

Sunday will start off cloudy with frequent rain in many regions. At least away from the northern Alps, the clouds will eventually break up from the northwest, followed by only a few scattered showers, and the sun is expected to shine for a few hours in the afternoon. In the eastern region, there will be a temporary brisk west-northwest wind, but elsewhere the wind will soon die down. The thermometer will not rise above 16 to 22 degrees.

Sunny start to the new week

The week will start with early autumn-like fog patches in some places, but otherwise it will often be only slightly cloudy. During the day, it will be mostly sunny in many regions. However, some high to medium clouds will move across the north, which will sometimes noticeably dampen the sunshine. Early temperatures will range from 5 to 13 degrees, with highs of 20 to 26 degrees.

On Tuesday, an Atlantic disturbance will cross large parts of Austria, bringing some rain showers and, in some areas, longer periods of rain. Cloud cover may break up from the northwest by the afternoon, at least away from the mountains, allowing for a few hours of sunshine. On the southern side of the Alps, however, the sun will be more likely to appear in the morning, followed later by rain and showers, and even thunderstorms in some areas. Early temperatures between 8 and 16 degrees, daytime highs between 16 and 21 degrees.
