Prague, September 13, 2025 – The Filipino community in Prague made history this year with the staging of the Filipinska Barrio Fiesta 2025, the first large-scale outdoor Filipino fiesta ever held in the Czech Republic. The celebration drew hundreds of Filipinos from across the country, transforming the venue into a vibrant showcase of Filipino tradition, food, music, and camaraderie.
The event was made possible through the support of the Philippine Embassy in Prague and the active Filipino organizations based in the Czech Republic. Their collaboration ensured that the community could experience the spirit of the barrio fiesta—an iconic Filipino tradition—thousands of miles away from home.
Adding to the festivity, delegates from Vienna, Austria, joined the event, bringing their talents to the stage. Their presentations of traditional dances and songs highlighted the shared heritage and strengthened ties between Filipino communities across borders. This cross-country participation underscored the unity and resilience of Filipinos in Europe.
The program featured cultural performances, music, and food stalls offering classic Filipino dishes such as adobo, pancit, and lechon. Beyond the entertainment, the celebration served as a space for Filipinos to reconnect with their roots and introduce Czech friends and other international guests to Filipino culture.
