The weather over the next few days will be varied: the week will start with lots of sun and pleasant temperatures, but will become mixed again in the middle of the week.
On Tuesday, a cold front will bring heavy rain in some areas, and on Wednesday, clouds will prevail in many places. According to Geosphere Austria, pleasant weather will return on Thursday, with temperatures reaching 27 degrees Celsius and late summer conditions expected for the weekend.
On Monday, a temporary high-pressure system will bring sunny weather to many places. Early morning fog will quickly dissipate, with isolated showers possible in the western mountains. Otherwise, it will be mostly clear. Winds will be light to moderate from the south to west. Early morning temperatures will range between 5 and 14 degrees Celsius, with highs reaching 20 to 26 degrees.
Rainy across most of the country
A cold front will move in from the northwest on Tuesday, bringing thick clouds and numerous rain showers, with heavy rain in some areas. From midday onwards, the weather will begin to clear up between Vorarlberg and Lower Austria, while it will remain rainy in the south until the afternoon. The wind will be moderate to brisk from the west to northwest in the north and light elsewhere. Temperatures will reach 15 to 21 degrees.
On Wednesday, a warm front will bring lots of clouds and occasional light rain, especially north of the Alps and in the north. There may be some sunny spells, especially in Vorarlberg. The wind will pick up temporarily, with maximum temperatures again between 15 and 21 degrees.
Late summer weather
The weather will be much friendlier on Thursday. After the last patches of fog clear, the sun will prevail across most of the country. Only in the north and east will there still be thick clouds and isolated showers in the morning. The wind will be mostly light but brisk at times in the Danube region. Temperatures will rise to 20 to 26 degrees.
Friday will also be mostly sunny. Early morning fog will quickly clear, with only a few harmless clouds appearing in the north and northeast during the day. With light winds, maximum temperatures will reach late summer levels of 22 to 27 degrees.
